Creative Data: Practitioner Talk
Artist Practitioner talk, come and hear how artist and researcher Gemma Latham explores creative processes such as games, data, textiles, digital and analogue, and how she engages audiences through her work.
Gemma is a participatory maker based in Manchester. Her work combines analogue and digital processes, taking inspiration from craft processes. Embracing accessible materials and methods she engages a wide range of people and makes otherwise intimidating processes accessible to all. Gemma is passionate about the power of combining physical and digital forms of making.
Recently work has included a range of digital workshops and participatory activities for the Whitworth Art Gallery, Tate Britain and SHIFT in Cheshire East. Gemma is currently part of a PhD programme called Transformation NW, based at Manchester Met University, and is researching the crossovers between traditional and digital forms of making, to include gaming.
